Snap and Savor: Day 48

The Snap

The Savor

Even on our last full day here after three years, I cannot read most of the writing on this poster. But, I do not have to read to understand that if I text while walking I might bump into someone, if I am distracted by music I might get my foot caught between the train and the platform, and if I play video games while descending I might topple all the way down the escalator.

In other words, pay attention and don’t let self-absorption distract from maintaining the community experience.

To remember how a society of 128 million in a land mass the size of California can coexist so civilly and amicably—through common courtesy and looking out for the good of the group above yourself. (That and good old fashioned public service reminders).

And though I think this poster is hilarious, it is a good reminder not to allow technology to get in the way of the real life and the real people before me.
